You communicate with your planning partners through the task board of the BIMPLUS web portal.

You can use the task board to retrieve the tasks of a Bimplus project from the Bimplus web platform. In addition, you can create new tasks or edit existing tasks.

Showing the task board

To show the task board of the BIMPLUS web portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)

  1. Go to the left sidebar and click Show task board.

    On the left side, you can see the Task navigator palette with all tasks of the current Bimplus project. By means of custom FILTER CRITERIA, you can sort the tasks by various categories.

    Tip: To hide the Task navigator palette, click Show task navigator again.

  2. Click Show table to the right of the tasks that you want to display on the task board.

    The task board appears. Its table lists the most important information about the tasks selected in the Task navigator palette.

Retrieving detailed information about tasks

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to retrieve detailed information about a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer“)
→  The Task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board“)

  • Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

    The Details palette opens on the right side.

    In addition, you can see the perspective view of the building model in full view. This is the perspective view that is currently saved for the task. All required specialist models, object types, and structural levels of the building structure will be selected automatically.

Creating tasks

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to create a new task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Select an appropriate perspective view of the building model in full view. This perspective view will be saved together with the new task.

  2. Go to the toolbar at the bottom and click Create task.

    The Details palette opens on the right side.

  3. Click Task details in the Details palette and enter detailed information about the task.

  4. To add comments, attachments, or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments, or Hyperlinks (see “Adding further information to tasks“).

  5. If you want to focus on a particular point, you can mark this point by placing a spot (see “Placing spots for a task”).
     
  6. Click SAVE.

    This creates the task, saving the view (see step 1) together with the task. The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses get emails informing them of the new task.

Editing tasks

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to edit a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

    Like the Task Board palette in Allplan, the Details palette displays detailed information about the task.

  2. Click Task details in the Details palette and change the detailed information about the task.

  3. To add comments, attachments, or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments, or Hyperlinks (see “Adding further information to tasks").

  4. You can place a new spot (see “Placing spots for a task”).

  5. You can change the perspective view that is saved for the task (see “Changing the perspective view for a task”).

  6. Click SAVE.

    The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses get emails informing them of the changes in the task.

Adding further information to tasks

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to add a comment, attachment, or hyperlink to a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

    You can see the Details palette.

  2. If you want to add a comment, go to the Details palette, click Comments, enter the comment in the box, and click ADD COMMENT.

    Or:

    If you want to add an attachment, go to the Details palette, click Attachments an then click ADD ATTACHMENT. Select the file in the Open file dialog box and click Open.

    Or:

    If you want to add a hyperlink, go to the Details palette, click Hyperlinks, enter the name and URL of the link, and click ADD HYPERLINK.

Placing spots

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to place a spot for a task in the building model

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

    You can see the Details palette.

  2. Click Spots in the Details palette.

  3. Click ADD SPOT; click to place the spot in full view.

Changing perspective views for tasks

Each task has a perspective view of the building model. You can change this perspective view by using both the BIMPLUS web portal and Allplan.

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to change the perspective view saved for a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

    The perspective view that is currently saved for the task appears in full view.

  2. Click Task details in the Details palette and click EDIT in the preview.

  3. Change the perspective view in full view.

  4. Click SAVE.

    The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses get emails informing them of the changes in the task. Allplan automatically displays the new perspective view the next time you select the task.

Importing and exporting tasks as BCF files

To communicate smoothly with your planning partners, you can import tasks as BCF files directly to a Bimplus project by using the BIMPLUS web portal or use the BIMPLUS web portal to export a BCF file for each task created for a Bimplus project.

Important!
The project must contain the associated model with the objects that are described in the task. Otherwise, BCF files cannot be handled correctly. Therefore, load the model into your project before you import a task.


To import a task in a BCF file by means of the BIMPLUS web portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the upper toolbar of the task board and click Import BCF file to Bimplus in the upper-right area.

  2. You can see the Open dialog box. Select the BCF file that contains the task that you want to import. The extension of this file is usually *.BCFZIP.

  3. Click Open.

    This creates a new task, writing the contents of the BCF file to the task.

To export a single task to a BCF file by means of the BIMPLUS web portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Select the task that you want to export to a BCF file.

    Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

  2. Go to the upper toolbar of the task board and click Export task to BCF file in the upper-right area.

    You can see the BCF export dialog box.

  3. Select the BCF format (BCF 2.0 or BCF 2.1).

  4. Decide whether you want to save the BCF file locally on your computer or make it available for other planning partners so that they can download it directly from Bimplus.

    Download
    Click DOWNLOAD and save the BCF file in any folder.

    Or:

    Share file
    Enter the email addresses of the recipients and click SEND. The recipients get emails informing them of the BCF file that can be downloaded from Bimplus.

To export several tasks to a BCF file by means of the BIMPLUS web portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Display the tasks that you want to export to the BCF file on the task board.

    To do this, go to the Task navigator palette and click Show table to the right of the required tasks. Make sure that this button is not selected for the tasks that you do not want to export.

  2. Go to the upper toolbar of the task board and click Export all visible tasks to BCF file in the upper-right area.

    You can see the BCF export dialog box.

  3. Select the BCF format (BCF 2.0 or BCF 2.1).

  4. Decide whether you want to save the BCF file locally on your computer or make it available for other planning partners so that they can download it directly from Bimplus.

    Download
    Click DOWNLOAD and save the BCF file in any folder.

    Or:

    Share file
    Enter the email addresses of the recipients and click SEND. The recipients get emails informing them of the BCF file that can be downloaded from Bimplus.

Exporting tasks as an Excel table

It is often difficult to keep track of tasks. This is particularly true when you have a complex task list. Therefore, you can export the tasks of a Bimplus project that are currently visible on the task board in Excel format.

To export the tasks of a Bimplus project to an Excel file by means of the BIMPLUS web portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Display the tasks that you want to export to the Excel file on the task board.

    To do this, go to the Task navigator palette and click Show table to the right of the required tasks. Make sure that this button is not selected for the tasks that you do not want to export.

  2. Arrange the columns of the task board in the sequence in which you want to display the columns in Excel.

  3. Sort the rows of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the rows in Excel.

    To do this, click the header of the column whose contents you want to use to sort the task list alphabetically or numerically in ascending or descending order.

  4. Go to the upper toolbar of the task board and click Export all tasks to Excel file in the upper-right area.

  5. Save the Excel file in any folder or open the file in Excel.

Deleting tasks

To use the BIMPLUS web portal to delete a task from a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task navigator palette is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the Task navigator palette or the task board and click the required task.

  2. Click Delete task in the Details palette.

  3. Click DELETE to confirm the prompt.

    ATTENTION!

    This deletes the task including all spots and further information. You cannot undo this operation.
