On the Bimplus portal, you communicate with your planning partners through the task board.

You can use the task board to retrieve the tasks of a Bimplus project from the Bimplus web platform. In addition, you can create new tasks or edit existing tasks.

Showing the task board

To show the task board on the Bimplus portal

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)

  • Go to the left sidebar and click Show task board.

    You can see the task board above the full view. The table lists the tasks created for the Bimplus project, including the most important task details.

    By using the Task navigator palette on the left side, you can categorize the tasks, find tasks and control how the tasks look in the table of the task board.

Retrieving tasks

To use the Bimplus portal to retrieve tasks created for a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)

  1. Show the task board (see "Showing the task board").

  2. Go to the task board or the Task navigator palette and click the task of which you want to see details.

    The Details palette opens on the right side.

    At the same time, full view displays the view of the building model that was saved together with the task. In addition, all required specialist models, object types and structural levels of the building structure will be selected automatically.

Creating tasks

To use the Bimplus portal to create a new task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Select an appropriate view of the building model in full view. Make sure all required objects are visible. This view will be saved together with the new task.

  2. Go to the toolbar under the full view and click Create task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. Click Task details and enter detailed information about this task.

  4. To add comments, attachments or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments or Hyperlinks (see “Adding further information to tasks”).

  5. If you want to focus on a particular point, you can mark this point by placing a spot (see “Placing spots for a task”).
     
  6. Click SAVE.

    This creates the task, saving the view (see step 1) together with the task. The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses get emails informing them of the new task.

Editing tasks

To use the Bimplus portal to edit a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Click the task you want to edit on the task board or in the Task navigator palette.

    The Details palette opens, displaying detailed information about this task. The details you can see are the same as those in the Task Board palette in Allplan.

  2. Click Task details and change the details of this task.

  3. To add comments, attachments or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments or Hyperlinks (see “Adding further information to tasks”).

  4. You can place a new spot (see “Placing spots for a task”).

  5. Click SAVE.

    The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses get emails informing them of the changes in the task.

Adding further information to tasks

To use the Bimplus portal to add a comment, attachment or hyperlink to a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Click the task you want to edit on the Task Board or in the Task navigator palette.

    The Details palette opens.

  2. If you want to add a comment, click  Comments, enter the comment in the box and click ADD COMMENT.

    Or:

    If you want to add an attachment, go to the palette, click Attachments and then click ADD ATTACHMENT. Select the file in the Open dialog box and click Open.

    Or:

    If you want to add a hyperlink, click Hyperlinks, enter the name and URL of the link and click ADD HYPRLINK.

  3. Click SAVE.

Placing spots

To use the Bimplus portal to place a spot for a task in the building model

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the task board or the Task navigator palette and click the task for which you want to place a spot.

    The Details palette opens.

  2. Click Spots.

  3. Click ADD SPOT and place the spot in full view.

Saving a view for a task

Whenever you save changes in the details of a task, the program saves the current view of the full view together with the task. But you can also change the view saved for a task.

To use the Bimplus portal to save a new view for a task

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Click the task on the task board or in the Task navigator palette.

    You can see the view currently saved for this task in full view.

  2. Change the view.

  3. Click Task details. Go to the preview and click EDIT.

  4. Click SAVE.

Importing and exporting tasks

To communicate with your planning partners, you can directly import any task in BCF format (BIM collaboration format) or export any Bimplus task in BCF format.

Important!
The project must include the associated model with the objects described in the task. Otherwise, the program can neither use nor display BCF files correctly. Therefore, load the model into your project before you import BCF files.

To use the Bimplus portal to import a task in BCF format

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Go to the toolbar of the task board and click Import BCF file to Bimplus in the upper-right area.

  2. The Open dialog box opens. Select the BCF file containing the task you want to import. The extension of this file is *.BCFZIP.

  3. Click Open.

    This creates a new task, writing the contents of the BCF file to this task.

To use the Bimplus portal to export a task in BCF format

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Select the task you want to export to a BCF file.

    To do this, click the task on the task board or in the Task navigator palette.

  2. Go to the toolbar of the task board and click Export task to BCF file in the upper-right area.

    The BCF export dialog box opens.

  3. Select the BCF format (BCF 2.0 or BCF 2.1).

  4. Decide whether you want to download the file immediately or make it available for other planning partners so that they can download it.

    Download
    Click DOWNLOAD and save the file in any folder.

    Or:

    Share file
    Enter the email addresses of the recipients and click SEND. The recipients get emails informing them of the BCF file that is available for download on Bimplus.

Exporting the task list

It is often difficult to keep track of tasks, in particular, with a complex task list. Therefore, you can export the complete task list of a Bimplus project in Excel format.

To use the Bimplus portal to export the task list of a Bimplus project in Excel format

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Arrange the columns of the task board in the sequence in which you want to display the columns in Excel.

  2. Sort the rows of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the rows in Excel.

    To do this, click the header of the column you want to use to sort the contents of the task list alphabetically or numerically in ascending or descending order.

  3. Go to the toolbar of the task board and click Export all tasks to Excel file in the upper-right area.

  4. Save the file in any folder or open the file in Excel.

Deleting tasks

To use the Bimplus portal to delete a task from a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→  The Bimplus project is loaded in BIM Explorer (see “Loading the building model into BIM Explorer”)
→  The task board is open (see “Showing the task board”)
→  You have the required rights (see “Rights in Bimplus”)

  1. Click the task you want to delete on the task board or in the Task navigator palette.

  2. Click  Delete task in the Details palette.

  3. Click DELETE to confirm the prompt.

    ATTENTION!

    This deletes the task including all spots and further information for good.
