Showing the Task Board palette
In Allplan, the Task Board palette is integrated in the palette window, where you can select it directly.
If this is not so, you must show the palette first.
To show the Task Board palette in Allplan
Right-click in the workspace and select Task Board on the shortcut menu.
Only if you have not yet signed in to Bimplus from Allplan:
Use the BIMPLUS dialog box to sign in to Bimplus (see “Using Allplan to sign in to Bimplus”).
Retrieving detailed information about tasks
To use Allplan to retrieve detailed information about a task
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
Like the Details palette of the BIMPLUS web portal, the Details palette in Allplan displays detailed information about the task.
Retrieving spots
To use Allplan to retrieve spots placed for a task
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
You can see the Details palette.
Click Spots in the Details palette.
You can see the list of spots that were placed for the task in the model by means of the BIMPLUS web portal.
Click an entry in the list to focus on this spot in the perspective view of the model in the active viewport.
Creating tasks
To use Allplan to create a new task for a Bimplus project
Select an appropriate perspective view of the building model in the active viewport. This perspective view will be saved together with the task.
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
Click New task in the Tasks area.
You can see the Details palette.
Click Task details in the Details palette and enter detailed information about the task.
- To add comments, attachments, or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments, or Hyperlinks in the Details palette (see “Adding further information to tasks“).
To focus on particular elements or objects, display them in color (see “Marking design elements”).
Click Save.
This creates the task, saving the view (see step 1) together with the task. The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses in the Task details get emails informing them of the new task.
Editing tasks
To use Allplan to edit detailed information about a task
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
Like the Details palette of the BIMPLUS web portal, the Details palette in Allplan displays detailed information about the task.
Click Task details in the Details palette and change the detailed information about the task.
To change or add comments, attachments, or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments, or Hyperlinks in the Details palette (see “Adding further information to tasks“).
- You can change the perspective view that is saved for the task (see “Changing the perspective view for a task”).
Click Save.

Adding further information to tasks
To use Allplan to add a comment, attachment, or hyperlink to a task
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
You can see the Details palette.
If you want to add a comment, go to the Details palette, click Comments, enter the comment in the box, and click Add comment.
Or:
If you want to add an attachment, go to the Details palette, click Attachments and then click Add attachment. Select the file in the Open file dialog box and click Open.
Or:
If you want to add a hyperlink, go to the Details palette, click Hyperlinks, enter the name and URL of the link, and click Add hyperlink.
Click Save.

Marking design elements
To use Allplan to mark design elements
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
You can see the Details palette.
Click Select Elements, Clear Selection at the bottom of the Details palette.
- Go to the active viewport and click the elements you want to display in color.
Right-click to confirm.

Changing perspective views for tasks
Each task has a perspective view of the building model. You can change this perspective view by using both Allplan and the BIMPLUS web portal.
To use Allplan to change the perspective view saved for a task
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
You can see the Details palette.
Change the perspective view in the active viewport.
Click Save view at the bottom of the Details palette.
The Responsible person and the people behind Email CC addresses in the Task details get emails informing them of the changes in the task. The BIMPLUS web portal automatically displays the new perspective view the next time you select the task.
Importing and exporting tasks as BCF files
To communicate smoothly with your planning partners, you can import tasks as BCF files directly from Allplan to a Bimplus project or use Allplan to export a BCF file for each task created for a Bimplus project.
Important!
The project must contain the associated model with the objects that are described in the task. Otherwise, BCF files cannot be handled correctly. Therefore, load the model into your project before you import a task.
To import a task in a BCF file from Allplan to Bimplus
- Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
Click Import BCF file to Bimplus in the Tasks area.
You can see the Open file dialog box. Select the BCF file that contains the task that you want to import. The extension of this file is usually *.BCFZIP.
Click Open.
This creates a new task, writing the contents of the BCF file to the task.
To export a single task from Allplan to a BCF file
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Select the task that you want to export to a BCF file.
To do this, go to the task list and click within any column of the task.
Click Export task to BCF file in the Tasks area.
You can see the BCF export dialog box.
Select the BCF format (BCF 2.0 or BCF 2.1).
Decide whether you want to save the BCF file locally on your computer or make it available for other planning partners so that they can download it directly from Bimplus.

Click DOWNLOAD and save the BCF file in any folder.Or:
Share file
Enter the email addresses of the recipients and click SEND. The recipients get emails informing them of the BCF file that can be downloaded from Bimplus.
Exporting tasks as an Excel table
It is often difficult to keep track of tasks. This is particularly true when you have a complex task list. Therefore, you can export the tasks of a Bimplus project as an Excel table from Allplan.
To export the tasks of a Bimplus project from Allplan to an Excel file
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
- Arrange the columns of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the columns in Excel.
Sort the rows of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the rows in Excel.
To do this, click the header of the column whose contents you want to use to sort the task list alphabetically or numerically in ascending or descending order.
Click Export all tasks to Excel file in the Tasks area.
- Save the Excel file in any folder or open the file in Excel.
Deleting tasks
To use Allplan to delete a task from a Bimplus project
Select the Task Board palette (see “Showing the Task Board palette“).
The Tasks area contains the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list adapts automatically to reflect the current status of Bimplus.
Click within the right column of the required task. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.
You can see the Details palette.
- Click Delete task in the Details palette.
Click YES to confirm the prompt.
ATTENTION!
This deletes the task including all spots and further information not only from Allplan but also from the database saved on the Bimplus web platform. You cannot undo this operation.
