Using Allplan, you can communicate directly with Bimplus and thus with your planning partners. You do not need the web browser. Just open the Task Board palette in Allplan. You can then retrieve the tasks of a Bimplus project from the Bimplus web platform. In addition, you can create new tasks or edit existing tasks.

Important!
This is only possible if the Allplan project is linked with the Bimplus project. In other words, the Allplan project data have been uploaded to Bimplus at least once. If this is not so, start by linking the Allplan project with the Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project").

Displaying the Task Board palette

To display the Task Board palette in Allplan

This is only possible if ...

→ Allplan is running

  1. Right-click in the workspace and select Task Board on the shortcut menu.

  2. If you have not yet logged in to Bimplus from your Allplan workstation:
    Use the BIMPLUS dialog box to log in to Bimplus (see “Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus“).

Retrieving tasks from Bimplus

To use Allplan to retrieve tasks created for a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You are a member of the Bimplus project

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task whose details you want to retrieve. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens, displaying detailed information about this task. The details you can see are the same as those in the Details palette on the Bimplus portal.

Retrieving spots

To use Allplan to retrieve the spots placed for a task

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You are a member of the Bimplus project

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task whose spots you want to retrieve. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. Click  Spots.

    You can see the list of spots placed for the task in the model on the Bimplus web portal.

  4. Click an entry in the list to set the focus on this spot in the view of the model displayed in the current viewport.

Creating tasks

To use Allplan to create a new task for a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Set an appropriate view of the building model in the current viewport. This view will be saved together with the task.

  2. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

  3. Click New task.

    The Details palette opens.

  4. Click  Task details and enter detailed information about this task.

  5. To add comments, attachments or hyperlinks, click Comments, Attachments or Hyperlinks respectively (see “Adding extra information to tasks“).

  6. To set the focus on particular elements or objects, display them in color (see "Marking design elements").

  7. Click Save.

    The program creates the task, saving the view set (see step 1) together with the task. The Responsible person and the persons behind Email CC addresses get emails, informing them of the new task.

Editing tasks

To use Allplan to edit details of a task

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task you want to edit. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens, displaying detailed information about this task. The details you can see are the same as those in the Details palette on the Bimplus portal.

  3. Click  Task details and change the task details.

  4. To add or change a comment, attachment or hyperlink, click Comments, Attachments or Hyperlinks respectively (see “Adding extra information to tasks“).

  5. If you want, you can change the view saved for the task (see "Saving a view for a task").

  6. Click Save.

    The Responsible person and the persons behind Email CC addresses get emails, informing them of the changes in the task.

Adding extra information to tasks

To use Allplan to add a comment, attachment or hyperlink to a task

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task you want to edit. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. If you want to add a comment:
    Click Comments, type a comment in the text box and click Add comment.

    Or:

    If you want to add an attachment:
    Click  Attachments and then Add attachment. In the Open file dialog box, select the file you want to add and click Open.

    Or:

    If you want to add a hyperlink:
    Click Hyperlinks, type the name and URL of the link and click Save hyperlink.

  4. Click Save.

    The Responsible person and the persons behind Email CC addresses get emails, informing them of the changes in the task.

Marking design elements

To use Allplan to mark design elements

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task for which you want to mark design elements in the model. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. Click  Select Elements, Clear Selection.

  4. In the current viewport, click the elements you want to display in color.

  5. Right-click to confirm your settings.

    The Responsible person and the persons behind Email CC addresses get emails, informing them of the changes in the task.

Saving a view for a task

Whenever you save changes in the task details, the program saves the view set in the current viewport together with the task. But you can also change the view saved for a task.

To use Allplan to save a new view for a task

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task for which you want to save a new view. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. Change the view in the current viewport.

  4. Click  Save view.

Importing and exporting tasks

To communicate with your planning partners, you can directly import any task in BCF format (BIM collaboration format) or export any Bimplus task in BCF format.

Important!
The project must include the associated model with the objects described in the task. Otherwise, the program can neither use nor display BCF files correctly. Therefore, load the model into your project before you import BCF files.

To use Allplan to import a task in BCF format

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

  2. Click Import BCF file to Bimplus in the Tasks area.

  3. The Open file dialog box opens. Select the BCF file including the task you want to import. The extension of this file is usually *.BCFZIP.

  4. Click Open.

    This creates a new task, writing the contents of the BCF file to this task.

To use Allplan to export a task in BCF format

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")
  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Select the task you want to export to a BCF file.

    To do this, click within any column of this task in the task list.

  3. Click Export task to BCF file in the Tasks area.

    The BCF created dialog box opens.

  4. You can choose to save the file locally on your computer or to send the file immediately to the relevant persons.

    Select Download or Share file respectively.

  5. If you select the Download option:
    Click the Download button and save the file to any folder.

    Or:

    If you select the Share file option:
    Click within the Email box, select one or more recipients and click Send. The recipients get emails, informing them of the BCF file available for download on Bimplus.

Exporting the task list

It is often difficult to keep track of tasks, in particular, with complex task lists. Therefore, you can export the complete task list of a Bimplus project in Excel format.

To use Allplan to export the task list of a Bimplus project in Excel format

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")
  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Arrange the columns of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the columns in Excel.

  3. Sort the rows of the task list in the sequence in which you want to display the rows in Excel.

    To do this, click the column header of which you want to use the contents for sorting the task list alphabetically or numerically in ascending or descending order.

  4. Click  Export all tasks to Excel file in the Tasks area.

Deleting tasks

To use Allplan to delete a task from a Bimplus project

This is only possible if ...

→ You have used your Allplan workstation to log in to Bimplus (see "Using Allplan to log in to Bimplus")
→ The relevant Allplan project is open and linked with a Bimplus project (see "Linking an Allplan project with a Bimplus project")
→ You have the required rights (see "Rights in Bimplus")

  1. Select the Tasks über Allplan anlegen, abrufen und bearbeiten (see "Displaying the Task Board palette").

    The Tasks area includes the list of tasks created for the linked Bimplus project. This list updates automatically to reflect the current status on Bimplus.

  2. Click within the right column of the task you want to delete. As an alternative, you can also double-click the task.

    The Details palette opens.

  3. Click  Delete task.

  4. Click Yes to confirm the prompt.
