If you want to exchange data in accordance with the IFC standard, a basic set of properties is absolutely necessary. Creating a property set template from scratch is not only time-consuming but also prone to errors. Therefore, you cannot do this in Bimplus.

But you can easily create your own property set templates by copying one of the predefined property set templates and customizing this copy to suit your needs and requirements. All predefined property set templates include the minimum of property sets required in accordance with the IFC standard. This ensures that all property set templates derived always comply with the minimum requirements in accordance with the IFC standard.

To derive a property set template, copy one of the predefined property set templates. You can then customize the copy by changing or adding property sets.

Copying property set templates

To copy a property set template

This is only possible if ...

→ Property Manager is open (see “Opening the property manager“)

  1. Open the list box for the property set template (on the left in the table header) and select the template you want to copy.

  2. Click Property set template options to the right of the list box and select Copy on the menu.

  3. The Copy dialog box opens. Type a name for the new property set template and click COPY.

Changing property set templates

To change a property set template

This is only possible if ...

→ Property Manager is open (see “Opening the property manager“)
→ You have copied a property set template (see “Attributsetvorlagen kopieren“)

  1. Open the list box for the property set template (on the left in the table header) and select the template you have copied.

  2. In the Object column, select the object type or object class for which you want to change one or more property sets.

  3. Edit the property sets as described in “Changing property sets or defining new property sets“.

Deleting property set templates

You can only delete property set templates you defined yourself. The predefined property set templates cannot be deleted.

Important!
You can only delete a property set template you defined yourself if this template is not assigned to any project of the team.

To delete a property set template

This is only possible if ...

→ Property Manager is open (see “Opening the property manager“)

  1. Open the list box for the property set template (on the left in the table header) and select the template you want to delete.

  2. Click Property set template options to the right of the list box and select Delete on the menu.

  3. Click DELETE to confirm the prompt.
