To download specialist models to Allplan

When you do your the specialist design planning in Allplan, you can download specialist models straight directly from Allplan.

Allplan places the data downloaded on the BIMPL_REF layer. When you upload your own specialist model to the Bimplus project, all objects on this layer will be ignored This protects the original model data of the other planning partners from being changed or overwritten.

You can download a reference model only if you have used your Allplan workstation to sign are signed in to Bimplus from Allplan and you have appropriate rights for the Bimplus project.

Downloading specialist models from IFC files

Specialist models that were uploaded as IFC files to Bimplus can be downloaded as IFC files from Bimplus again.

To download a specialist model in IFC format from the Bimplus platform

1. If BIM Explorer is open:
   Show the dashboard by clicking Image Removed BIMPLUS on the title bar of the Bimplus portal.
   Select the project from which you want to download a specialist model so that it Make sure the required project is the current project (see “Selecting the current Bimplus project”).
   
   
2. Go to PROJECT DATA on Select the navigation menu by clicking Image Added Show navigation menu on the title bar of the BIMPLUS web portal.
   
   

3. Click Image Added and click Image Removed Models.

   You can see an overview of the specialist models in of the current project.
   

   Display the model overview in list view.

   To do this, click Image Removed (below the username).
   

   
   

4. If Image Added Icon view is selected:
   Point to the model that you want to download. Click Image Added Options and then Image Added Download model.

   Or:

   Click Image Removed

   If Image Added Table view is selected:
   Click Image Added

   Download model in the Options

   column

    column of the model that you want to download.

   Or:

   On the side menu, open the tree structure and go to the Image Added Model that you want to download. Click Image Added Options and then Image Added Download model.
   
   

5. A dialog box opens. Decide whether you want to open the model or save it locally on your computer. Then click OK.
   
   

6. If you want to save the specialist model locally:
   Select the folder and file name and click SAVE Save.

Exporting specialist models via the IFC interface

You can use the IFC interface to export any specialist model from Bimplus. Afterward, the specialist model can be downloaded as an IFC file or emailed to other planning partners.

To use the IFC interface to export a specialist model from Bimplus

1. If BIM Explorer is open:
   Show the dashboard by clicking Image Removed BIMPLUS on the title bar of the Bimplus portal.
   Select the project from which you want to download a specialist model so that it Make sure the required project is the current project (see “Selecting the current Bimplus project”).

3. Click Image Added and click Image Removed Models.

   Display the model overview in list view.

   To do this, click Image Removed (below the username).
   Click Image Removed Export IFC in the Options column of the model you want to download

   
   

4. If Image Added Icon view is selected:
   Point to the model that you want to export. Click Image Added Options and then Image Added IFC export.

   Or:

   If Image Added Table view is selected:
   Click Image Added IFC export in the Options column of the model that you want to export.

   Or:

   On the side menu, open the tree structure and go to the Image Added Model that you want to export. Click Image Added Options and then Image Added IFC export.

   Bimplus starts exporting the model. As soon as the process is complete, you can see a message.
   
   

5. Click the link in this message.

   The You can see the Model export finished dialog box opens.
   
   

6. Decide whether you want to download the model immediately or make it available for other planning partners so that they can download it.

   Download
   Click DOWNLOAD and save the file in any folder.

   Or:

   Share file
   Enter the email addresses of the required recipients and click SEND.
