Using You can use BIM Explorer , you can to retrieve specific information about any object in the overall model. This information includes the object's values and parameters (alphanumeric data) and its position in the modelproperties, characteristics and parameters of the whole object and the positions of the elements making up the object. In addition, you can see how the object interacts with adjacent objects (geometry) and with the model as a wholethese elements interact.

You can find this information in the Details palette, which has the following areas:

  • 3D previewPREVIEW
    Displays the selected object on its own. You can navigate move the selected object in the 3D preview as you would move the overall model in full view.

  • OBJECT STRUCTUREObject structure
    Shows how the elements making up the selected object are structured. Using Image Removed By using Image Added Toggle visibility, you can show and hide each element in the 3D preview or hide each element from the 3D preview. In additionBy using Image Added Toggle opacity, you can make each element transparent using Image Removed Toggle opacityin the 3D preview.

  • OBJECT PROPERTIESObject properties
    Lists the object properties in accordance with the property set assigned to the project.
    You can find not only user-specific (Allplan) properties but also general information on about the object, such as its name, geometry and unit.
    For example, the Element section shows the name of the model from which the object comes. This is particularly useful if the building model has several superimposed specialist models from various sources are superimposed and you cannot see at a glance which model includes the object in question.

  • Further informationAttachments
    Attachments are Includes comments, files attachments (for example, screenshots) and hyperlinks (for example, pointing to web sites websites of manufacturers) (see "Adding comments and further information to objects").

To retrieve information about an object

  1. To see the details of retrieve information about an object, click this object in the building model.

    Or:

    To retrieve information about several objects, select and hold the Ctrl key and click the objects one after the other.

    The Details palette opens on the right side.

  2. If you have selected several objects:
    Go to the Details palette and select the required object in the upper list box.

  3. Click Image Removed Image Added Object properties in the Details palette.

    You can see all available information on the object clickedsee the object structure of the selected object and its properties.

  4. Click Image Added Comments to see the comments that are available for the selected object.

    Or:

    Click Image Added Attachments to see the attachments that are available for the selected object.

    Or:

    Click Image Added Hyperlinks to see the links that are available for the selected object.
